Millsaps Room
A Large Table which seats 20 on the third floor of the library. Laptop computer and projector available for use in this room. There is a network cable under the table that can be used with a laptop. Contact the library at 601-974-1070 to reserve the room. Reservations for the computer and projector can be made via the audiovisual department at 601-974-1073 or librarian@millsaps.edu.
Computer Instruction Room
28 computers, 1 instructor computer, LCD projector, VCR. Can be reserved for classes. Call 601-974-1070 for more information.
Welty Room
A collection of works by and about Eudora Welty.
Engel Room
The Engel Room houses the Engel collection and may also be reserved as an audiovisual classroom or group meeting room. Seats 16 people.
Rare Book Room
Rare book room contains items that are fragile. These items do not circulate, but you may ask a staff member to get one for you if you need to look at it.

Room 316 may be reserved as an audiovisual classroom or group meeting room. Seats 12.
Virginia M. Riggs Reading Room
Gift of Marvin A. Riggs, ’33, in honor of his wife, Virginia M. Riggs, ‘40
Mrs. Virginia Mayfield Riggs received her BA from Millsaps in 1940 and an MA in Library Science from the University of Denver in 1953. She was a librarian at Sunflower Junior College and in the Jackson Public Schools until 1956 when she became Library Director at Hinds Community College, a position she held until her retirement in 1976.Marvin A. Riggs received his BA degree from Millsaps College in 1933, his MA in history from the University of Alabama in 1947, and his M. Ed., from the University of Denver in 1953. He was principal of Utica High School until enlisting in the Army in World War II and serving as a Chief Warrant Officer. Mr. Riggs had a distinguished career as a teacher and Dean at Sunflower Junior College (now Mississippi Delta Community College), and at Hinds Community College where he taught history and social sciences from 1955 until his retirement in 1976.Mrs. Riggs’ long and distinguished career as a Librarian and educator is fittingly honored by this beautiful reading room and study rooms made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Riggs.
The Riggs Reading Room is available for reading and study and may be reserved for meetings.
